8BitDo launches stunning Gears of War keyboard and mouse
When Gears of War: E Day hits the PC and Xbox, it’s more than just a campaign launch—it’s an invitation to celebrate the grim world of The Fallen with some seriously slick new hardware. To mark this event, the accessory powerhouse 8BitDo has rolled out a limited-edition set of mechanical keyboard and mouse, designed specifically for the Gears faithful.
This isn’t just any peripheral; it’s a striking red-and-black package that drips with the rugged visual flair of the Gears universe, making it an instant must-have for anyone jumping into the campaign on PC. While the custom gear won’t ship until October 30th, the pre-order window is officially open now. Fans can snag the $119.99 Retro 87 Mechanical Keyboard and the $59.99 Retro R8 Gaming Mouse.
Underneath the menacing E-Day theme, the Retro 87 Keyboard promises a typing experience that is both tactile and futuristic. It features semi-custom Huano Cloud Gray linear switches on a hot-swappable PCB, topped with durable double-layered ABS keycaps. Connectivity is handled with ease, offering tri-mode flexibility via Bluetooth 5.3, 2.4GHz wireless, or standard USB-C. With battery life stretching up to 280 hours wirelessly, this board is ready for marathon gaming sessions without needing a charger.
The Retro R8 Mouse is designed to match the keyboard’s aesthetic while delivering top-tier performance. It is equipped with a high-end PixArt PAW 3395 optical sensor, capable of tracking up to 26,000 DPI across six levels. Built with ultra-durable micro switches rated for 100 million clicks, the mouse offers incredible longevity. Connectivity options are diverse, supporting Bluetooth, 2.4GHz wireless, and USB-C, pushing impressive polling rates up to 4000Hz wirelessly and an astonishing 8000Hz wired.
Beyond the impressive specs, 8BitDo’s approach to gaming accessories is something to admire. They have cultivated a reputation for designing Xbox-themed gear that manages to be both creative and incredibly functional. Their previous releases, like the Xbox green keyboard and mouse, were praised for their superior build quality and typing experience, proving that quality and striking design can go hand-in-hand.
This new E-Day collection proves that the engineering remains rock-solid, tailored specifically for Gears enthusiasts. Whether you are gearing up for the campaign on PC or simply looking to upgrade your setup, 8BitDo has delivered a truly memorable set of peripherals that blend high-end engineering with unmistakable, aggressive style.
