Beat Tracks of the Beast in Arc Raiders
The wilds of Arc Raiders are more than just desolate landscapes; they are intricate puzzles waiting to be solved. Among the most rewarding challenges are those that require not just combat skill, but keen observation and a healthy dose of auditory detective work. One such expedition involves navigating the treacherous railway lines of the map to track down elusive enemies known as the Bully and the Skulker.
To succeed in this pursuit, players must master the art of following the rails—a path that leads directly through the heart of the action. The journey begins by heading into the northern tracks area, situated in the north of Pendola Pass. This is the starting point for your hunt, a vast and relatively easy area to survey before diving into the deeper mysteries.
From there, the objective is clear: follow the train tracks south toward Almatera Station. This route is crucial because the enemies you seek often patrol these specific lines, making the rails the perfect conduit for the next phase of the quest.
The first target is the Bully, a formidable foe that announces its presence with a loud, distinctive sound when it locks onto a target. This creature, resembling a large arc horse-dog robot, offers a clear sonic clue. Players can find these heavyweights lurking in several key spots along the route, including Old Town in the southwest of the map, the tracks north of Almatera Station, and the Railroad Junction to the east.
The hunt intensifies when searching for the Skulker. These are the stealthier adversaries, little turret-like figures on four wheels that patrol the area with a subtle, characteristic beep beep noise. These sneaky, small creatures are often found in more hidden corners, such as the ravine between the Railyard and the Commissary Supermarket, or near the Gondola exfil north of Old Town.
Locating a Skulker requires patience; they are designed to be easily overlooked until they deploy their turret. Keep your ears open for that signature beep beep, as these enemies are often harder to damage before they fully engage their defenses. While a heavy-caliber weapon can certainly put them down, true success lies in tracking them down quietly.
Completing this sequence requires weaving the detection of both the Bully and the Skulker into a single, cohesive round of gameplay. It is a demanding test of spatial awareness and listening skills, rewarding players who are willing to look beyond the obvious.
Once both targets have been successfully pinged and the required steps completed, the immediate challenge is met. For those feeling particularly ambitious, there are optional objectives available, such as attempting to destroy three Skulkers and extract a Skulker Targeter. While these optional steps offer extra rewards, finding the Targeter remains a demanding task.
Ultimately, mastering the movement along the tracks and tuning into the distinct sounds of the Bully and Skulker transforms a simple journey into a thrilling, auditory adventure, cementing the unique challenge that Tracks of the Beast offers.
