Controversial AI feature made me buy another Fire TV
I initially harbored no great enthusiasm for the Amazon Fire TV line, and voice controls were never high on my list of preferred technologies. I certainly didn’t expect that opinion to change, but the introduction of Alexa+ on my Fire TV Omni QLED proved me spectacularly wrong.
What started as a potential review subject quickly evolved into a fixture in my home. I never planned on using this television for anything more substantial than testing its capabilities, yet it has slowly, inevitably, become a significant part of the domestic landscape.
The integration of the television has been driven by simple necessity. I now use it to display my PS5, primarily because I wanted to liberate it from the main living room. It’s a perfect solution for a spare room television, offering exactly what it needs without overcomplicating things.
Now, performance enthusiasts might note that this setup doesn’t push the boundaries of 120hz gaming, and that is perfectly fine. For a secondary viewing area, the visual fidelity is more than adequate.
But the real magic, the icing on the cake, lies in the seamless operation provided by the voice commands. The addition of Alexa+ transforms the interaction, making the entire experience wonderfully intuitive. It turns what started as a mere television into a truly connected and convenient piece of home entertainment.
