Unlocking the Mystery: Crafting the Illusory Pipa in Phantom Blade Zero

In the sprawling world of Phantom Blade Zero, some secrets remain locked away, guarded by powerful barriers. For players seeking to uncover the deeper lore of the region, the key lies in crafting a mysterious artifact: the Illusory Pipa. This phantom edge is more than just a collectible item; it is the magical tool needed to unseal a significant barrier in the north of the Meigu Lake area.

But how does a player obtain this sought-after item? The journey to craft the Illusory Pipa is an adventure in itself, requiring exploration, boss battles, and careful collection of elusive memories. The components are scattered across the map, demanding that adventurers delve into various hidden locations to gather their necessary pieces.

The first essential piece, the Illusory Pipa Head, requires a trip to the Illusory Pipa Head, players must first defeat the secret boss, Dusk, in the Village of Lu. To secure the necessary materials, players need to find Firefly’s Memory Flowers, which are hidden as part of the Secrets at the Heart of the Lake quest. Once these flowers are secured, the path leads to the Temple of Blue Fireflies, where Dusk awaits.

Next, the Illusory Pipa Strings are obtained by navigating to the sunken opera house in south Meigu Lake. To access this location, adventurers must defeat Yan Qiansui, the Zither Maiden. Along the way, players must collect Yan’er’s Memory Flowers floating around the island, with two specifically gathered toward the Pangzhen docks, to unlock the necessary encounter.

The final piece, the Illusory Pipa Backplate, is found deep within the Mandate Encampment. This requires players to locate the region, which is accessible via a key found in Pangzhen. Inside the Mandate Encampment, the final boss must be defeated, and the Backplate is then found resting on a table just after the battle. This quest demands strategic planning and exploration of the region near the entrance to the Village of Lu.

Once all three components—the Head, the Strings, and the Backplate—are successfully acquired, the final step is to return to Myst in Pangzhen. By selecting the appropriate dialogue option, players can commission her to repair the Illusory Pipa. With the artifact complete, the ultimate reward is unlocked: the ability to unseal the long-guarded barrier in the northeast of Meigu Lake.
