Stepping into the world of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 DMZ is an experience where you quickly learn that certain necessities—like a parachute—are not automatically handed to you. If you’re like many players, you’ll discover that relying on free gliding is a myth; you have to earn your gear.

When you’re dealing with the harsh realities of falling damage, the absence of a parachute can feel like a serious oversight. These essential items are something you must actively hunt down and acquire, often after a bit of digging through the game’s environment.

So, how do you navigate the loot landscape to secure this crucial piece of equipment? The good news is that while finding these items isn’t easy, it is absolutely possible, and success depends on knowing where to look.

Hunting for Airborne Assets

The primary way to find parachutes is through ground looting. While the most valuable gear is typically guarded in high-threat zones, there are opportunities to find these items even in less dangerous areas. For instance, searching military outposts and lockers often yields better results than randomly checking residential buildings. Think of military locations as prime hunting grounds; that is where the military nature of the item suggests they are most likely to appear.

Look closely at supply drops at the end of Dynamic Ops missions. These drops are guaranteed to contain various types of gear, and there is always a chance a parachute will be among the loot.

Furthermore, don’t overlook the Vendor Station in the FOB. This spot offers a rotating cycle of weapons and gear, making it a reliable place to check for unexpected loot, including parachutes.

The Crafting Path

If finding a parachute proves too elusive, you have the option to craft one yourself using the 3D Printer station in the FOB. This method transforms the challenge from hunting to planning.

For a rare-tier disposable parachute, the process requires preparation. You must first raise your DMZ Level to 55 to unlock the recipe. Once unlocked, you will need to gather 30 Chemicals and 3 Rigid Synthetics to begin the craft. To level up efficiently, immerse yourself in DMZ missions to accumulate XP, and make sure to utilize any available 2XP tokens.

Crafting a legendary, reusable parachute is an even more intricate process. This requires finding the specific recipe during a game run and successfully exfilming with it. This means the hunt for the legendary parachute is as much a treasure hunt as the initial search.

Once the recipe is unlocked, the requirements for the legendary craft are 2 Turned Components, 5 Nylon Cloth, and 10 Rigid Synthetics. Remember, even when crafting, you must be vigilant; if you fail to exfil, the crafted item is lost.

Ultimately, the game forces you to earn your equipment. While the pace of DMZ might feel designed without the aid of free gliding, it ensures that every piece of gear you possess has been legitimately earned. Be careful, stay observant, and make sure you check those spots—you never know where your next piece of essential gear might be hiding.
