I unsubscribed from Hulu + Live TV and I’m not going back
When streaming services implement price hikes, viewers don’t just shrug; they start hunting for a better deal. Recently, this trend spurred a personal investigation into alternatives to YouTube TV, forcing a deep dive into the crowded landscape of live TV streaming options.
The search began with testing various platforms to see if there was a viable substitute for the service that had long dominated the market. The experimental period involved exploring several contenders, including Fubo TV, Hulu + Live TV, and Sling TV.
Each option offered a different flavor, testing the waters to see which service delivered the best balance of content and cost. Among the options, Hulu + Live TV emerged as a particularly strong contender. It proved to be the closest offering to the experience provided by YouTube TV, satisfying the need for comprehensive live programming without breaking the bank.
While Hulu + Live TV proved to be the most satisfying solution for the reporter, the search was not entirely over. Despite finding a serviceable alternative, the experience highlighted a persistent consumer frustration: the tendency of major streaming platforms to raise prices, trapping subscribers in an ongoing cycle of financial pressure.
