I used Claude Code to build my second brain in Obsidian

The idea of a second brain has been whispering through the productivity world for years. It’s a concept rooted in the desire to manage the overwhelming deluge of digital information, aiming to create a trusted, external system dedicated to managing and remembering our lives.

This concept gained significant traction thanks to foundational work, particularly Tiago Forte’s influential book, Building a Second Brain. It provided the philosophical blueprint for organizing thoughts and data into a coherent, accessible structure.

But something has changed dramatically in recent years. The emergence of advanced artificial intelligence has injected a powerful new dynamic into this established framework.

Today, the pursuit of the second brain is not just about manual organization; it’s about intelligent automation. With AI tools entering the mix, the potential for creating truly seamless, personalized systems has exploded.

The premise remains revolutionary: take your entire digital life—your notes, projects, ideas, and memories—and place them into one centralized, intelligent system. The goal is simple yet profound: to let that system handle the heavy lifting of managing and remembering for you.

AI acts as the ultimate partner in this endeavor, moving the concept from a static filing system to a dynamic, living ecosystem. Instead of simply organizing data, these new systems can analyze, synthesize, and recall information contextually.

This integration promises to unlock a new level of productivity, moving the focus away from the tedious act of filing and toward the higher-level work of creation and insight. The future of productivity seems to be less about storage and more about intelligent management.
