Intel Core Ultra 5 250K Plus: Lowest Price Ever $145
When it comes to cutting-edge processors, sometimes the best deals are the ones that redefine expectations. The Intel Core Ultra 5 250K Plus has emerged as a true bargain, dropping to an all-time low price that makes performance enthusiasts and budget-conscious builders alike take notice.
Currently, you can snag this powerhouse for an incredible $145.99 on Amazon, a massive 34% off the list price. This price point is even more aggressive than what has been seen on other comparable CPUs, signaling that Intel is offering serious value in the current market.
Though priced like an entry-level chip, the Core Ultra 5 250K Plus packs serious horsepower. It hails from Intel’s Arrow Lake Refresh family, boasting an impressive 18-core configuration, cleverly split between six Lion Cove P-cores and twelve Skymont E-cores. This architecture proves that maximizing core count doesn’t always require compromising on efficiency.
Under the hood, the chip clocks in at a blistering 5.3 GHz boost speed. While it intentionally omits Hyper-Threading, the sheer number of cores and threads provides substantial multithreaded capability, making it a formidable contender for productivity workloads.
But the real story lies in how this chip stacks up against the competition. In productivity testing, the Core Ultra 5 250K Plus demonstrated impressive speed, achieving a 33% advantage in multithreaded productivity geomean compared to its AMD rivals, even when those competitors carry a higher price tag. In single-threaded performance, this CPU managed to outpace every tested AMD offering, including the flagship Ryzen 9 9950X.
Gaming performance, however, sees a more nuanced picture. While the chip remains competent, it sits slightly behind some of the absolute speed leaders. On average, the Core Ultra 5 250K Plus performs similarly to the Core i5-14600K. Yet, when you factor in the savings—nearly $100 less than some direct competitors—the value proposition becomes undeniable.
For those looking to build a high-performing system without breaking the bank, this deal is too good to miss. The Core Ultra 5 250K Plus isn’t just a chip; it’s a smart choice for anyone looking to punch above their weight class in the CPU market.
