Itsy-Bitsy Survival Horror Co-op
There is something undeniably unsettling about children’s toys. Those sightless eyes and static expressions combine to create a sense of unpersonhood that stirs something ancient and primal deep within us. And perhaps, something equally primal: an unslakeable lust for murder.
This unsettling atmosphere is perfectly captured in the upcoming co-op survival horror experience, Escape From Playtime, which is now inviting players to test the waters before its launch.
Set within the sprawling, abandoned confines of a toy factory, the game throws players into the shoes of the world’s most vulnerable inhabitants: the Smiling Critters. These diminutive figures navigate a haunted environment, tasked with gathering resources and solving mind-bending puzzles under the shadow of an ominous, unseen presence.
Escape From Playtime is designed for shared terror. It is a 1-to-4 player co-op experience where managing panic, split-second decisions, and the instinct to hide are your most valuable assets. Players must grapple with difficult choices—when to split up, when to run, and when to risk a desperate dash back for a crucial resource—all while evading creatures that lurk just inches away.
The gameplay blends creepy puzzle-solving and intense traversal with the pure dread of survival horror. Navigating the factory, filled with full-sized environments, offers unique challenges as the Smiling Critters must master stealth and fear to survive. The tension lies in the risk of making regrettable decisions, knowing that the outcome will be anything but easy.
The game is slated for release on Steam on October 21, 2026.
