KIOXIA LD4 30.72TB NVMe SSD PCIe 5.0 for hyperscale

Kioxia is setting the stage for the next generation of data center storage with the introduction of its cutting-edge LD4 series. This new line of NVMe Solid State Drives (SSDs) is specifically engineered to meet the demanding requirements of hyperscale environments, promising massive improvements in efficiency and performance for the world’s largest data operations.

The foundation of this new technology lies in the use of 8th-generation BiCS FLASH QLC NAND. This advanced memory architecture is crucial for delivering the high density and speed that modern hyperscale operations require, allowing data centers to handle exponentially growing demands with greater agility.

The LD4 series utilizes an E1.L form-factor, a physical design optimized to maximize storage density while maintaining the high throughput necessary for mission-critical applications. This focus on density and speed is exactly what powers the evolution of enterprise storage solutions.

Following the announcement on October 9, Kioxia has moved quickly to deploy the technology, shipping samples of the new drives to select customers. This hands-on phase allows partners and potential clients to begin evaluating the real-world performance and scalability of the LD4 series in their own infrastructure.

To showcase this groundbreaking progress to the industry, Kioxia will be presenting the LD4 series at the upcoming 2026 OCP Global Summit. The event, scheduled for October 12 to 15 in San Jose, California, will serve as a major platform for revealing the full potential of this advanced storage solution.

The unveiling promises to signal a significant leap forward in the storage landscape, positioning Kioxia’s technology at the forefront of the race toward ultra-efficient and high-performance data management.
