Leon Kennedy bodyguard: Zach Cregger wants a bear hug
When it comes to choosing a protector from the terrifying world of Resident Evil, fans have weighed in on which iconic character deserves the spotlight. For director Zach Cregger, the answer seems surprisingly clear, offering a heartwarming perspective on the spirit of the franchise.
In a recent discussion surrounding the inspiration for his upcoming Resident Evil film, Cregger offered a surprisingly tender suggestion. If he were somehow stuck in the movie and could choose any character to protect him, his choice would be Leon Kennedy. He envisioned a scenario where he could simply bear hug Leon, close his eyes, and let the legendary agent provide the safety he needed.
This choice suggests an affinity for Leon’s inherent competence and calm demeanor—qualities that would make him an ideal shield against the onslaught of horror.
While the sentiment is undeniably sweet, it raises the question: is Leon truly the only valid choice? Observers suggest that while Cregger favored Leon, other iconic characters certainly hold a claim to protection.
Other compelling contenders for this protective role include Jill Valentine and even Billy Coen. These characters, too, possess the necessary grit and skill to navigate the darkest corners of the game’s narrative.
However, Cregger’s preference for Leon speaks volumes, positioning the character as the perfect embodiment of reliable, comforting guardianship. It’s a choice that taps into the deeply human desire for safety amidst chaos, making Leon Kennedy the frontrunner for the role of ultimate protector in the Resident Evil universe.
