Local LLM schedules my day better than Google Calendar

We all operate under the illusion of control, especially when it comes to time. We treat our calendars like divine blueprints, believing that a meticulously planned schedule will magically deliver peak productivity and effortless success. But what happens when we let the rigidity of the clock dictate our life, rather than allowing our life to dictate the schedule?

The truth is, a calendar is rarely a tool for genius; it is usually just a highly organized list of commitments. It excels at telling you when a meeting starts, but it fundamentally fails at predicting the rhythm of human energy. It knows the time allotted for a task, but it remains stubbornly ignorant of when you are actually at your most productive, or how much you can realistically squeeze between two demanding calls or before the inevitable midday slump.

This disconnect is where the real challenge lies. We often fall into the trap of scheduling based on external demands—the demands of others, the demands of deadlines, or the demands of habit—rather than aligning our actions with our internal energy levels. Trying to force deep, focused work into arbitrary slots only leads to exhaustion and the painful realization that we are asking too much of ourselves, too fast.

True productivity isn’t found in filling every minute with obligations; it’s found in understanding the flow of our own energy. It involves shifting the focus from the calendar as a master to the calendar as a helpful guide. By stepping back and listening to what your energy actually demands, you stop chasing an impossible schedule and start crafting a life where work flows naturally, rather than feeling like a relentless, exhausting sprint.
