Massive Expansion: 30 New DBZ Characters arrive

Prepare for an epic journey, Dragon Ball fans! Bandai Namco has just unleashed the most ambitious expansion yet for Dragon Ball Sparking Zero: the Super Limit-Breaking NEO DLC. This isn’t just a small add-on; it’s a full-scale overhaul designed to dramatically expand the fighting roster and introduce entirely new ways to experience the world of Dragon Ball.

Producer Jun Furutani has laid out the exciting details, revealing that players can anticipate more than 30 brand new playable fighters alongside a suite of new stages and modes. This massive expansion launches next week across all supported platforms, promising serious content for dedicated fans.

At the heart of this update is the brilliant new solo mode, Limit Breaker Journey. This mode transforms character development into an adventure, allowing players to take a favorite fighter on a quest through intense battles and events. Success in these challenges rewards players with crucial stat boosts, the chance to meet legendary characters, equip powerful Battle Arts, and train for peak performance.

Characters enhanced through the Limit Breaker Journey are then ready to dominate in Player Matches and Offline Battles, ensuring that every new fighter brings fresh, potent abilities to the arena.

The roster additions alone are enough to cause a frenzy. The expansion introduces iconic figures like Super Saiyan Bardock, King Vegeta, Grandpa Gohan, Supreme Kai, General Tao, Super Android 17, Uub, Demon King Piccolo, and Young Goku—many of whom have never graced the classic Budokai Tenkaichi games. This marks the largest roster expansion in the series in years!

Beyond the new fighters, the DLC brings substantial fresh content, including 33 new playable characters, four exciting Episode Battles, numerous Extra Battles, and four brand-new stages to explore.

To complement this massive introduction, a free update is also rolling out two thrilling new battle mechanics. Players will now master Sparking! Boost, which allows for powerful temporary attack buffs by consuming Skill Stock, and Chain Blast, a mechanic enabling players to switch in an ally mid-combo for massive follow-up damage.
