Thermal Grizzly and Noctua have joined forces to redefine GPU monitoring, delivering a collaboration that tackles a common headache—fan noise—while simultaneously enhancing diagnostic capabilities. The result is the WireView Pro II Noctua Edition, a device that merges precision power monitoring with legendary low-noise cooling expertise to create a monitoring tool that is not only smarter but strikingly quieter.

The original WireView Pro II has already gained a reputation among enthusiasts for its ability to detect potential issues with fragile 12V-2×6 connectors before they cause catastrophic damage. By measuring current independently on each conductor rather than just total power draw, the device can spot unusual current distribution, hinting at potential contact problems that could lead to hardware failure. It even provides visual and audible warnings, and in some configurations, an automatic shutdown function.

However, as one user noted, even the original device’s cooling fan could be noticeable in very quiet systems. To push the boundaries of subtlety, Thermal Grizzly and Noctua combined their talents to engineer a solution that significantly reduces operational noise.

The Noctua Edition achieves this silence through a comprehensive design overhaul. It features a customized cooling solution, including a Noctua NF-A4x10 fan, an optimized fan grille, and a larger, CNC-machined aluminum housing. Crucially, this system employs semi-passive operation, meaning the fan remains off for extended periods, only activating when necessary.

This engineering focus translates directly into remarkable acoustic performance. When operating under standard conditions, the fan runs at 5,000 RPM and generates noise at 39.4dB(A) at a 10cm distance. With the Noctua refinement, this level of noise drops dramatically. When active cooling is required, the fan operates under 2,000 RPM, reducing the noise to a mere 21.5dB(A) at the same distance. This nearly halved noise output makes the device virtually inaudible alongside other system fans in a whisper-quiet PC setup.

Beyond acoustics, the enhanced system demonstrates smart thermal management. In scenarios where the case fans are off and temperatures exceed 40°C, the device can manage up to a 300W GPU load without needing to activate its fan. This intelligent idle mode ensures that performance monitoring doesn’t come at the expense of tranquility.

The WireView Pro II Noctua Edition is available in both Normal and Reversed variants, accommodating different cable routing configurations for users. It is further supported by an extended two-year warranty covering the GPU connector. While the standard retail price hovers around $189.90, the specialized Noctua Edition is currently listed at $222.18 on Thermal Grizzly’s official store. This collaboration proves that world-class monitoring can be achieved without compromising on a peaceful computing experience.
