Pivoting Fans Formula V Line Air Power G10 Review

Formula V Line challenges convention with its Air Power G10 case, introducing a radical new approach to internal cooling and design at Computex this year. This isn’t just a box; it’s a statement piece that dares to rethink how PC cases are built, blending high-end aesthetics with truly unconventional airflow mechanics. We dive into whether this futuristic concept delivers on its promise.

At the heart of the G10 design is a front panel featuring three 120mm fans. Unlike traditional static setups, these fans boast a novel capability: they can be individually pivoted, allowing users to adjust the airflow direction slightly up, down, or horizontally. This innovative mechanism aims to provide highly customized cooling, offering a refined, user-defined experience for thermal management.

Beyond the cooling gimmick, the Air Power G10 is packed with modular features designed for the modern builder. It embraces flexibility through a modular lower PSU chamber, enabling the power supply and fan bracket to be repositioned between the front and rear. This modularity, combined with quick-release mechanisms, facilitates both easier maintenance and faster system assembly.

Aesthetically, the case steps up the game with luxury metallic craftsmanship, offering finishes in both Rose Gold and Metallic Silver, giving the build an immediate, high-quality visual appeal. Furthermore, the design incorporates thoughtful details aimed at maximizing efficiency, including integrated dust filters across the front, top, and bottom panels, ensuring cleaner airflow for long-term stability.

The internal layout is highly customizable, supporting various component types. It features support for ATX, Micro-ATX, and Mini-ITX motherboards, 7 expansion slots, and flexible internal drive bays accommodating one 3.5-inch HDD and two 2.5-inch SSDs. Crucially, it also offers a built-in GPU support bracket that can be vertically adjusted to accommodate different graphics card thicknesses.

For serious thermal enthusiasts, the testing phase was rigorous. We put the case through its paces using a demanding system, featuring an Intel Core Ultra 7 270K Plus CPU, a Palit RTX 5080 graphics card, and robust components. The goal was to see if the pivoting fan design truly translated into superior thermal performance.

The results offered a mixed picture. While the unique front panel certainly creates a striking visual effect, the thermal testing indicated that the pivoting fans did not deliver a significant performance advantage. The case proved to be reasonably effective, but the novelty of the mechanism did not translate into measurable, superior cooling results.

Ultimately, the Formula V Line Air Power G10 exists in an interesting space. It is an undeniably novel design that pushes the boundaries of case aesthetics and modularity. However, in our assessment, the innovative front panel, while fun, does not fundamentally improve performance. It is a concept that was certainly worth exploring, but perhaps it needed a slightly different path from the lab to the market.

Despite the critical assessment of the airflow mechanism, the case remains an attractive option, priced competitively at $99.99. It succeeds brilliantly in offering stunning looks and flexible functionality, making it a compelling choice for builders who prioritize design and modularity alongside performance.
