We all have our horror game experiences. Some of us are seasoned survivors, while others treat jump scares like a mild inconvenience. For the author, having played enough horror games, the question isn’t whether they can handle the scares, but whether they can actually make it to the end.

After finishing games like Silent Hill: Townfall, the author concluded that if they had the right circumstances, survival was possible. But the real test wasn’t just personal; it was a team effort.

When assessing a group of coworkers on their ability to handle the intense difficulty curve of modern horror, the team relied heavily on personal “vibes” and prior exposure to similar titles. While some members brought valuable experience from games like Best PC games, the assessment often leaned more toward intuition than hard data.

The process of ranking the team felt less like a serious strategy session and more like a psychological experiment. The author found that most rankings were based on gut feeling. Yet, there were three members who proved utterly unpredictable, placing them in a Wild card category because their outcomes were so uncertain—they might fly through the game or become hopelessly trapped.

The deciding factor in surviving these challenging games wasn’t just solving puzzles, but managing the escalating threat of the monsters. While the initial encounters might seem manageable, the difficulty curve of the horror element rapidly steepens toward the game’s climax. This escalation is what truly separates the seasoned survivors from the rest of the group.

Despite the intensity, there was a consensus on capability. The author remains fairly confident that about half of the team possesses the necessary skills to navigate the perilous landscapes and survive the escalating terror of the game. For the rest of the group? Well, they were deemed to be on a mission to prove a very important point.
