RE Requiem & Pragmata smash sales for Capcom
Capcom is currently enjoying a period of stellar performance, proving that beloved franchises continue to deliver massive success in the competitive gaming market. The publisher has reported an exceptionally strong quarter, fueled primarily by the continued phenomenal sales of its recent titles, Resident Evil Requiem and Pragmata.
These two games have not just sold well; they have become major commercial anchors for the company. Resident Evil Requiem alone has cleared an impressive hurdle, surpassing 8 million copies sold, while Pragmata has successfully hit the 2.5 million sales milestone.
The financial results reflect this strong momentum. In its latest reporting, Capcom recorded substantial year-on-year revenue growth, achieving around $430 million in net sales for the first quarter and generating approximately $250 million in operating profit.
Beyond these blockbuster hits, the company’s overall software sales experienced a significant jump. Across new releases and its extensive back catalogue titles, Capcom moved a total of 23.81 million units sold, significantly up from the 14.16 million units sold during the same period last year.
While other major franchises saw varied results—with Monster Hunter Wilds launching with strong initial fanfare but quickly seeing a dip in chart momentum—the success of Requiem and Pragmata provided the crucial boost needed for the overall quarterly growth.
Looking ahead, Capcom’s outlook remains incredibly bright. The company is poised to deliver even more exciting content later this year with the upcoming release of Dragon’s Dogma 2: Dark Arisen. This highly anticipated title promises a substantial upgrade, featuring a major expansion, a new region, additional bosses, and a wide array of quality-of-life improvements designed to draw in new players.
With these successful titles performing brilliantly and major upcoming projects on the horizon, industry observers suggest that Capcom is perfectly positioned to close out the current year with another period of impressive financial results.
