Core Ultra 7 270K Plus Review: Intel's Refreshed Chip Gets Competitive

8/10 — Intel Core Ultra 7 270K Plus (2026)
Pros
- 24 cores for work
- Improved gaming performance
- Good launch price
Cons
- AMD X3D chips still faster for gaming
The Core Ultra 7 270K Plus went on sale on 26 March 2026 with an Intel suggested price starting from $299, with 8 performance cores and 16 efficiency cores (24 in all) for Intel’s LGA 1851 socket. Intel’s own spec page now lists a recommended customer price of $339 to $349.
What works
Arrow Lake Refresh brought a recent boost in gaming performance, and Tom’s Hardware lists this chip among its picks. It has plenty of cores for work and costs far less than the Core Ultra 9 285K.
Where it falters
AMD’s X3D chips still lead for pure gaming, and Intel’s platform has less upgrade history than AM5.
Verdict
A strong, well-priced Intel option, especially for mixed work and play.
