Radeon RX 9070 Review: A Quieter Alternative to the XT
8/10 — AMD Radeon RX 9070 (2025)
Pros
- 16GB of memory
- Good 1440p performance
- Lower price than the XT
Cons
- Small price gap to the XT
The Radeon RX 9070 launched on 6 March 2025 at $549, with 16GB of GDDR6 memory, sitting one step below the RX 9070 XT.
What works
It offers the same 16GB of memory as the XT at a lower price, which makes it a strong 1440p card.
Where it falters
The $599 XT is only a little more expensive for a noticeable step up, so the cheaper card is only a clear win if the price gap is bigger than at launch.
Verdict
A good 1440p card, though the XT is the more tempting buy at launch prices.
