Arc B580 Review: The Budget Card That Changed the Conversation
8/10 — Intel Arc B580 (2024)
Pros
- 12GB of memory at a low price
- Real budget competition
- Welcome third option
Cons
- Drivers still maturing
- Uneven stock
The Intel Arc B580 launched on 13 December 2024 at $249, with 12GB of memory, based on Intel’s Battlemage design. It was the first strong budget card from Intel.
What works
It offers 12GB of memory at a very low price, which was unusual in the budget range, and it brought real competition to a part of the market that had little.
Where it falters
Driver and game compatibility are still a step behind NVIDIA and AMD, and stock has been uneven.
Verdict
A strong budget option and a good sign for a third GPU maker.
