GeForce RTX 4070 Super Review: A Strong 1440p Card from the Last Generation
7.5/10 — NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070 Super (2024)
Pros
- Good 1440p performance
- Full RTX 40 series features
- 12GB of GDDR6X
Cons
- Superseded by the RTX 50 series
- 12GB of memory limits headroom
The GeForce RTX 4070 Super launched in January 2024 at $599, with 12GB of GDDR6X memory, as a faster refresh of the RTX 4070.
What works
It is a capable 1440p card with the full RTX 40 series feature set, and it was a clear step up from the original 4070 at the same price.
Where it falters
It has been overtaken by the RTX 50 series, so it makes sense mainly when found at a good price, and 12GB of memory limits it.
Verdict
Still a good card if the price is right, but the newer 50 series is the better buy at full price.
