GeForce RTX 5070 Review: A Capable 1440p Card with Just 12GB
7/10 — NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5070 (2025)
Pros
- Strong at 1440p
- Full NVIDIA feature set
- Sensible launch price
Cons
- Only 12GB of memory
- AMD offers more memory at the price
The GeForce RTX 5070 launched on 5 March 2025 at $549, with 12GB of GDDR7 memory. It is NVIDIA’s mainstream card for 1440p gaming.
What works
It is a well-rounded 1440p card with the full NVIDIA feature set, and it has a sensible launch price.
Where it falters
With 12GB of memory it has less headroom than rivals in the same price band, such as AMD’s 16GB RX 9070, so it may age less well at high settings.
Verdict
A good 1440p card held back by its memory.
