GeForce RTX 5080 Review: Fast, but Hard to Justify Over the 5070 Ti
7.5/10 — NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5080 (2025)
Pros
- Very strong 4K performance
- NVIDIA's full feature set
- 16GB of GDDR7
Cons
- Hard to justify over the 5070 Ti
- Same 16GB as cheaper cards
The GeForce RTX 5080 arrived alongside the 5090 on 30 January 2025 at $999, with 16GB of GDDR7 memory. It is the high-end card for people who want serious 4K performance without paying flagship money.
What works
It is a very quick card with NVIDIA’s full feature set, and 16GB of memory is enough for today’s games at high settings.
Where it falters
It sits awkwardly between the RTX 5070 Ti and the 5090. The 5070 Ti costs $749 at launch and gets most of the way there, while the 5090 offers far more memory.
Verdict
A very good card in a tricky spot. Worth it only if you want the extra speed over the 5070 Ti.
