GeForce RTX 5090 Review: The Fastest Card Money Can Buy, at a Price

8.5/10 — NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5090 (2025)
Pros
- The fastest consumer graphics card
- 32GB of GDDR7
- Suited to 4K and heavy creative work
Cons
- Very expensive
- Overkill for most players
The GeForce RTX 5090 launched on 30 January 2025 at $1,999, with 32GB of GDDR7 memory. It sits alone at the top of the RTX 50 series, built for 4K gaming and for creative and AI work that needs the memory.
What works
Guides still name it as the fastest gaming card you can buy, and the 32GB of memory gives it room that nothing else in the range has. If you want maximum settings at 4K and have the case, power supply and budget for it, nothing else comes close.
Where it falters
It costs far more than the rest of the range, and street prices have run well above the launch price, so it only makes sense when the performance is the point. Most players will be better served by a cheaper card.
Verdict
The best card there is, but a luxury. Buy it for the extra capability, not because it is sensible.
