The AI Chip Revolution: How Qualcomm’s Snapdragon X2 Elite Extreme Is Redefining Performance

The battle for the most powerful and efficient System-on-Chip (SoC) is heating up, and the latest skirmish is being fought in the premium thin-and-light laptop market. After months of testing, a new independent study has brought concrete evidence to the table, demonstrating that Qualcomm’s Snapdragon X2 Elite Extreme platform isn’t just competing—it’s setting a new benchmark for performance, efficiency, and price.

Similarly, in Geekbench 7 benchmarks, the Snapdragon chip was found to be up to 53% faster than the Intel equivalent and up to 83% faster than the AMD Ryzen AI chip.

Furthermore, the chip’s Hexagon NPU reached 80 TOPS, significantly outpacing the 50 TOPS delivered by its Intel and AMD rivals.

Even when running in the Balanced Windows power profile, the Snapdragon X2 Elite Extreme maintained a lead in all AI and CPU benchmarks while operating on battery power, outperforming the competing chips even when Intel and AMD systems were plugged in at their maximum performance settings.

This exceptional efficiency and power delivery come with a major market advantage: value. The independent testing showed that the Snapdragon X2 Elite Extreme delivers this superior performance at a lower retail price point compared to its closest Intel competitors. This is especially significant when considering the various laptops tested, which ranged in price from $1,649 to $2,299.

While Intel still holds an edge in integrated graphics, such as Arc B390, the overall picture paints a clear picture for consumers: Qualcomm is not just offering better technology, they are offering a compelling package.
