Sonic Racing: Crossworlds Year-Two brings FFVII, Persona, Hello Kitty crossovers

Sonic Racing: Crossworlds has established itself as a major hit in the racing community, thriving thanks to its fun gameplay, diverse cast of characters, and a robust supply of both free and paid downloadable content. Now, SEGA is continuing this momentum by officially unveiling the ambitious roadmap for the game’s second year, promising a massive injection of new content.

The excitement escalated last month when SEGA hosted a livestream, revealing details for the upcoming year, including some truly unexpected crossovers slated to arrive in November. Fans who invest in Season Pass Two, priced at £24.99, will unlock a spectacular collection of these collaborative packs.

These exclusive packs feature highly sought-after IP, including Godzilla, Evangelion, Hello Kitty, Segaland, Final Fantasy VII, and Persona 3/4/5. These additions will bring fresh characters, vehicles, and brand new stages to the world of Crossworlds.

For those who own the base game, the support doesn’t stop there. Players will receive eight additional free DLC characters and vehicles over the next year, featuring exciting additions like Bayonetta, Aigis from Persona 3, and a special McLaren collaboration.

Beyond the new characters, the updates introduce fresh gameplay mechanics designed to deepen customization and strategy. New features include a brand new Dual Match mode, allowing players to compete 1v1 against another player or the CPU, along with a new ‘Grand Master’ plate that offers seven gadget slots and an amplified slot.

Central to this customization is the game’s unique gadget mechanic. This system allows players to augment their character or vehicle’s performance with various bonuses, whether that means enhanced drifting, faster boost accumulation, or an increased ring count. With 15 new gadgets and the Grand Master plate, players will have unprecedented freedom to tailor their racing style and personality.

The depth of customization and the introduction of these new systems ensure that Sonic Racing: Crossworlds remains a dynamic and engaging experience. Adding to the excitement, SEGA also announced a permanent price cut for the game, dropping the price from its previous high of £64.99 to £34.99.
