Every home tells a story, but some stories, like the one we inherited, require a bold new chapter. For my wife and me, the process of transforming our new house has been less about settling in and more about constant reinvention.

We picked up a property that had been lovingly lived in by previous owners for nearly three and a half decades. This history was a treasure, full of character, but it also presented an immediate design challenge: how do you honor the past while dreaming up a completely new future?

Our initial approach wasn’t about tearing down walls; it was about gentle shifts. We tackled the basics, refreshing the space with a fresh coat of paint and introducing new wallpaper to establish a foundation of modern comfort.

Bringing in our furniture was another step in making the space feel truly ours—a familiar yet fresh combination that started to ease us into the rhythm of the home.

But the real adventure began when we moved past the cosmetic fixes. Once the familiar groundwork was laid, we realized the true potential of the space lay in deeper design changes. This phase is where the excitement truly kicked in.

Now, we are diving into major design decisions, exploring layout changes, and redefining the very bones of the interior. It is an exciting journey of discovery, turning an inherited house into a uniquely personal masterpiece.
