Surface Laptop Ultra preorders are live now
Get ready to power up your workspace, because Microsoft has officially unveiled the Surface Laptop Ultra, and it’s packed a serious punch with NVIDIA technology. This isn’t just another laptop; it’s positioned as the ultimate machine for power users, creators, and AI builders who demand uncompromising performance.
The excitement is real, and the wait is almost over. The Surface Laptop Ultra is now available for preorder starting at $2,599, with shipments slated to begin on October 16. But what truly sets this machine apart is the powerhouse beneath the sleek chassis: the NVIDIA RTX Spark platform, featuring an N1X CPU, an RTX GPU, and up to 128GB of unified memory.
This hardware combination means that the Surface Laptop Ultra isn’t just fast—it’s built for demanding tasks. It features a gorgeous design, a stunning mini-LED display, and a host of ports, all wrapped up in a premium package. The real performance magic happens when you dive into the configuration options.
For those who want to balance cutting-edge performance with reasonable cost, there is a baseline model starting at $2,599. This configuration already delivers the RTX Spark platform, an 18-core N1X CPU, 24GB of unified RAM, and 512GB of storage. It’s a solid entry point for users who want high-end hardware without hitting the absolute peak price tag.
However, if you are aiming for truly extreme power, the options open up dramatically. For advanced users who need to push boundaries, there is a configuration featuring a 20-core CPU and a massive 6144-core GPU. Pairing this with 32GB of unified RAM and a 1TB SSD pushes the price up to $3,699.99. This is where you start seeing the absolute monster performance designed for heavy computational loads.
For the dedicated power enthusiast who refuses to compromise, the top-of-the-line model reserves the most potent RTX Spark components, 128GB of unified RAM, and a 1TB SSD, bringing the price to $5,899.99. This configuration is clearly aimed at the elite circle of professionals who need an ultimate device to handle everything thrown at it.
While some might question the pricing—especially when factoring in the current economic pressures surrounding RAM and storage—Microsoft is clearly targeting a specific demographic. This machine is designed for professionals, scientists, and creators who understand that top-tier hardware comes at a premium. It’s important to note that while the NVIDIA Blackwell GPU is powerful enough to handle demanding games with ray tracing and DLSS technology, this laptop is not primarily intended as a dedicated gaming rig.
Ultimately, the Surface Laptop Ultra isn’t just about raw specs; it’s about bridging the gap between professional creation and high-performance computing in a beautiful, portable package. If you’re ready to step into the world of next-generation hardware, the Surface Laptop Ultra offers a truly exceptional experience.
