The universe of Star Wars Zero Company offers a compelling tactical experience, but even the most engaging gameplay can benefit from refinement. While the core strategy remains brilliant, the interface design presents a small but significant opportunity to enhance the player experience.

Currently, the system utilizes a radial menu, where abilities are flung out in a circular pattern around the active character, akin to a medieval jailer’s ring of keys. This design, while functional, can introduce friction, particularly when trying to quickly select an attack after spotting an enemy.
The frustration arises when attempting to pivot quickly—panning over an enemy, selecting an attack, and then panning back to the character to execute the command. This circular mechanic interrupts the flow of tactical engagement, making precise action selection cumbersome.
To streamline this process and align the controls more intuitively with traditional tactical gameplay, a change to the ability selection style is recommended. By adjusting the settings within the Gameplay section, players can switch the Ability Selection Style from Radial to Linear.
Switching to a linear system restructures the action choices into a numbered row of boxes at the bottom of the screen. This change allows core abilities like moving, shooting, and overwatching to be presented in a more conventional format, directly accessible without the need for circular navigation.
This adjustment offers a cleaner, more direct method for commanding abilities, making the critical process of lining up the perfect angle for a strike or executing a tactical maneuver significantly smoother. This change also provides a flexible Hybrid option for players who might prefer a mix of both systems.
While fine-tuning the user interface is important for any title, the underlying quality of Star Wars Zero Company remains undeniable. With strategic adjustments to the controls, the game’s foundation is poised to deliver an even more seamless and satisfying experience for all players.
