  • True to its word, AMD brings FSR 4.1 to Radeon RX 7000-series card owners with its latest Adrenalin drivers

    AMD has just delivered some genuinely exciting news for PC gamers. Following previous moves in open-sourcing technology and pushing driver boundaries, the company has rolled out support for FSR 4.1 on its Radeon RX 7000-series graphics cards through the latest Adrenalin drivers.

    This update, specifically driver set 26.2.2, brings more than just standard game support; it introduces advanced AI-powered upscaling and frame generation capabilities. While this release doesn’t immediately focus on specific titles like Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced or Doom: The Dark Ages | Revelations, the real headline is the quality of the new algorithms themselves.

    FSR 4.1 steps up the game significantly compared to its predecessor, FSR 3. Compared to older upscaling methods, the results are noticeably superior. In fact, the frame generation and upscaling quality achieved by FSR 4.1 are clearly on par with Nvidia’s DLSS 4.5 suite, setting a new high bar for post-processing graphics enhancements.

    AMD had previously promised that these advanced FSR algorithms would be integrated into RDNA 3 cards, and they have delivered on that commitment. This move allows users to leverage cutting-edge technology for smoother, higher-fidelity visuals.

Currently, it is likely that FSR 4.1 running on RDNA 3 architecture will not yield the absolute peak performance achieved by FSR 4.1 on RDNA 4 cards.
