Unlock the True Ending of Phantom Blade Zero
For many players of Phantom Blade Zero, the ultimate goal is unlocking the True Ending—a narrative conclusion that rewards dedication with a spectacular final confrontation. Achieving this perfect ending, which grants access to the final boss fight and the coveted “With Heart and Blood” achievement, requires more than just following the main quest. It demands a strategic hunt through side activities and hidden objectives.
The journey to the true ending is not just about progression; it’s about collecting specific secrets and mastering challenging encounters. To unlock this perfect conclusion, players must tackle three major areas of the game:
1. Unearthing the Secrets at the Heart of the Lake
The first major quest line requires players to discover one of Firefly’s Memory Flowers in the Village of Lu. This quest chain is intricate, demanding that players defeat four specific scarecrow acolytes to acquire their masks. These include Acolyte Yanru in Lu, Acolyte Lei Ting in Pangzhen, Acolyte Guhe in Meigu Lake, and Acolyte Hansui in Crimson Manor. Accessing the final stage, the Phantom Illusionist’s realm, involves entering via a mirror in northwest Meigu Lake and requires the gathered masks. Within this realm, players must defeat a final puppet boss and complete a ritual by inserting the Yin and Yang eyes into the puppet, which involves vanquishing the puppet monks.
2. Conquering the Bloodline Awakening Pillars
Next, players must complete the five Long Pillar challenges within the Bloodline Awakening quest. These pillars serve as gatekeepers to the True Ending and also yield valuable Soul Tempering materials for crafting some of the game’s finest weapons. Each pillar is situated in a distinct location, ranging from Weeping Creek Valley and the Crimson Forest to the east Meigu Lake islands and the Phantom Illusionist’s realm. Successfully navigating these challenges is essential for unlocking the final path.
3. Fulfilling Quickhand’s Requests
Finally, players need to complete Quickhand’s Request quests, which involve finding and delivering various treasures and relics scattered across each region. These requests are crucial because they unlock access to otherwise inaccessible Phantom Edges, the Flying Dagger, and the Goldblaze. Completing these requests ensures that all necessary items are gathered for the ultimate endgame.
Once these complex prerequisites are met, Inanis will guide the player to the final ascent of Mount Soulrend. Upon reaching the peak, the player will be presented with a point of no return, signaling that all preparations are complete. The True Ending culminates in a monumental final battle against Leng Tu, Meng Hua, and Zuo Shang, allowing players to engage with Zuo Shang’s powerful second form—an encounter only accessible through total dedication.
Beyond the epic combat, achieving the True Ending grants access to a suite of cosmetic rewards, including the Hunt outfit, the Kindred outfit, the Blizzard outfit, and the Legacy outfit. Furthermore, players gain the Radiant Heart story item, ensuring that the journey through the world is truly complete. If desired, players can then choose to start a New Game+ with Inanis, allowing for further adjustments to difficulty and carrying over their prized weapons and Phantom Edges into the next adventure.
