Castlevania: Grimoire of Souls delisted from Apple Arcade

Apple Arcade has long been a destination for gamers seeking high-quality, original experiences. It has built a strong line-up featuring exclusive titles based on beloved properties, including games inspired by Sonic the Hedgehog, Katamari, and the classic Castlevania. This commitment to quality and originality has made the service a magnet for players looking for unique content.

However, like any successful subscription service, the universe of exclusive titles is constantly evolving. Recently, the service has made a notable announcement regarding one of its exclusive games, Castlevania: Grimoire of Souls, confirming that the title will soon be no longer available on Apple Arcade.

Konami officially confirmed the termination of the service for Castlevania: Grimoire of Souls, noting that while the game has been enjoyed by many players since its launch in September 2021, the decision was made to conclude its service.

The transition will happen smoothly, with the game being delisted on August 20th, followed by complete service termination on September 3, 2026 (PDT).

For context, Castlevania: Grimoire of Souls first launched in 2019 as a free-to-play game on iOS and Android, and was eventually shut down in 2020. It later returned to the platform as an Apple Arcade exclusive, free of microtransactions.

The shift in platform exclusivity is a common theme in the mobile gaming landscape. Over the years, several games that started as Apple Arcade exclusives have found new homes on other systems, such as PCs and consoles. Titles like Exit the Gungeon, Shinsekai: Into the Depths, and Assemble With Care have all successfully ported to broader audiences.

Whether Castlevania: Grimoire of Souls will follow this same trajectory is yet to be seen. This development highlights the ongoing, dynamic nature of game exclusivity and the eventual fate of titles that define a platform’s library.
