Gearbox reveals Borderlands 4 Story Pack 2 DLC details

The world of Borderlands 4 is gearing up for a massive expansion, promising new Vault Hunters, epic quests, and plenty of legendary loot. Gearbox has dropped some tantalizing details about the upcoming content, confirming that major updates are set to arrive in September.

One of the most anticipated reveals is the arrival of Story Pack 2, launching on September 10th. This isn’t just another mission; it introduces a brand new narrative adventure titled FL4K and the Last Resort, bringing back the formidable beastmaster from Borderlands 3. But the expansion doesn’t stop there—it promises to flesh out the roster of playable characters with a brand-new Vault Hunter: Loveless the Hacker.

Loveless is an ex-Anshin operative whose unique abilities manifest through cybernetics and a self-created digital virus, allowing him to physically manifest his code during combat. His inclusion adds a fresh dynamic to the already chaotic landscape of Pandora.

Beyond new characters, the game will also receive substantial gameplay additions with Version 1.9. This update is packed with repeatable content, including the Bounty Pack 4, which throws players into the Toxic Scowl to assist Levaine of the Electi in settling a bitter feud between Ripper factions. Players will also encounter a new boss and three mini-bosses, all offering exclusive rewards.

The loot opportunities are just as exciting. The update introduces coveted items, including a Pearlescent weapon and brand-new Legendary gear, ensuring that the hunt for powerful artifacts remains at the forefront of gameplay. Furthermore, players can acquire Vault Card 4, which offers cosmetic rewards and rerollable items to enhance their collection.

September is set to be a milestone month for Borderlands 4 fans, as they will also receive Bounty Pack 5, bringing fresh mission content and new Vault Card 5. For dedicated players, the Super Deluxe Edition owners will automatically receive all upcoming Bounty Packs and Story Packs, while Deluxe Edition owners will get access to the full Bounty Pack Bundle.
