Gears of War Multiplayer Beta Dates Revealed

Get ready, Gears of War fans! As the anticipation builds for the full release on October 6th, the developers are giving players an incredible head start with a multiplayer Open Beta, offering a limited glimpse into the action and a chance to test out the game’s core mechanics before it hits the mainstream.

This beta is structured across two distinct weekends, allowing players to dive deep into different aspects of the Gears universe. Those who have pre-ordered the game on Xbox Series X/S, Steam, or the Windows Store, as well as Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass members, will gain access during the Early Access period, running from August 6th to the 10th.

The Early Access weekend is dedicated to exploring the new and improved co-op Horde mode. Players can test out the mechanics of Horde Siege, featuring a single map, four classes capped at level 10, and two invasion bosses, giving a taste of the intense horde gameplay.

Following that, the next testing window opens up for everyone—even those who haven’t pre-ordered the full title. From August 13th to the 17th, players can jump into the Open Beta weekend, which shifts focus entirely to competitive PvP “Versus” modes.

The PvP experience is equally engaging, offering two different modes across two unique maps. Players will progress up to level 50 and have access to five medals as they compete against other players in these challenging environments.

While the beta offers a limited preview of the multiplayer content, it sets the stage for what’s coming at launch. When Gears of War: E-Day officially launches, the game will expand dramatically. Players can expect three Horde Siege maps, four invasion bosses, six PvP modes, and six different PvP maps, along with over 80 medals.

The full release promises deeper progression, allowing players to advance up to level 100 and unlock four prestige resets, ensuring long-term engagement and customizable experiences.

Beyond the core gameplay, participating in the beta grants exclusive rewards that carry over directly into the final game. Players can unlock sought-after cosmetic items, including the Epic Blast Damage Mags character skin, the Rare Crush the Bug weapon skin set, and various cosmetic items tied to headshots, revives, and Prototype Lancer executions.
