MW4 Beta Dates Officially Announced

The countdown is officially on for Call of Duty Modern Warfare 4, which is set to arrive globally this October. Following recent marketing pushes, the teams at Infinity Ward and Activision are now rolling out the roadmap, giving fans a detailed look at how they can experience the new title before its full release.

To build anticipation for this highly anticipated entry, a multi-stage beta system has been unveiled, allowing players to sample the new mechanics and content in advance. This approach is particularly exciting given that Modern Warfare 4 marks the first Call of Duty title to make its debut on Nintendo consoles, setting up an expanded playing field for the franchise.

Players will have two distinct opportunities to jump into the action: an Early Access Beta and a larger Open Beta. The Early Access period runs from August 21st to August 25th, requiring pre-order for access on PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC.

Following this initial window, the gates open even wider with the Open Beta, scheduled from August 28th through September 1st. This broader opportunity requires no pre-order and expands availability across PS5, Xbox Series X/S, PC, and the Nintendo Switch 2.

The Open Beta is set to be a massive playground for testing out new features and modes. Participants will gain access to engaging content including 19 different weapons, intense 3v3 skirmishes, massive tactical battles involving tanks, the Search & Destroy mode, a new Kill Block game mode, and the Training Mobility Course.

Beyond the sheer variety of game modes, players will get an up-close look at what makes Modern Warfare 4 unique. The beta is designed to let users experiment with the title’s major gameplay changes, such as innovative movement mechanics, refined FOV and depth-of-field systems, and the removal of hipfire bloom.

These refinements showcase Infinity Ward’s focus on pushing the boundaries of tactical combat. Getting hands-on with these innovations during the beta phases will provide players with crucial insight into how the new systems will shape the overall experience of Modern Warfare 4.
