RE 2, 3, 4 Remakes hit Switch 2 for Halloween
The shadows of the past are about to meet the brilliance of the future. In a move that has gaming fans buzzing, Capcom has officially confirmed that the beloved legacy of the Resident Evil series is set to make a grand return to the Nintendo Switch 2, just in time for the spooky season.
During Nintendo’s latest Direct Showcase, Capcom dropped a bombshell, announcing that three of their iconic titles are heading to the next-generation handheld-hybrid. The lineup includes the revamped Resident Evil 2 Deluxe Edition, Resident Evil 3, and the Resident Evil 4 Gold Edition.
These titles are slated for release on October 16th, bringing some of the most terrifying and action-packed survival horror experiences to the new console. While the anticipation is high, the visuals shown during the showcase proved that Capcom’s commitment to quality remains intact. Though we can’t guarantee specific framerates, the footage suggests the remakes will look visually solid and engaging.
Unlike some other console announcements, Capcom opted for a straightforward approach, selling each title separately rather than offering a bundled deal. For those who prefer the tangible experience, Capcom also confirmed plans for physical releases in various regions, including Europe and Asia. These physical versions are currently slated for a launch on January 29, 2027. While the exact format—whether these will be traditional cartridges or a new Game-Key Card system—is still under wraps, fans will have to wait a little longer for those physical copies.
