Tesla’s bright headlights recalled in 20,000 vehicles
Tesla Lights Get a Brightening Boost After Legal Change
Tesla owners are about to enjoy a significant upgrade in visibility, thanks to a recent regulatory change that has officially allowed the company’s headlights to be twice as bright on eligible vehicles. This update isn’t just about better night driving; it represents a tangible improvement for drivers and an evolution in how Tesla manages its lighting technology.
The changes come into effect with a specific scope, meaning not all vehicles are immediately affected by the new standards. The updated regulations apply to specific batches of Model 3 sedans and Model Y crossovers that were manufactured within defined timeframes.
For owners of the Model 3 sedan, the lights are now eligible for this enhanced brightness. This includes 1,614 vehicles that were built between July 24, 2017, and December 2, 2023.
The scope extends even further to the Model Y crossover line. A substantial number of these popular vehicles are also included in the new lighting standard. This affects 18,735 Model Y crossovers that were manufactured between February 11, 2020, and December 24, 2023.
This means that a large segment of the Tesla fleet has received this legal adjustment. Whether you drive a Model 3 or a Model Y, if your vehicle falls within these production windows, you can now experience the benefits of legally approved, brighter lighting systems. This update ensures that drivers receive optimal visibility while navigating roads, enhancing safety and peace of mind.
