Acer Unveils Predator Atlas 7 Handheld and Project DualPlay Mini Concept

Gaming hardware is constantly pushing the boundaries of form factor, and Acer has just dropped some seriously innovative concepts that promise to redefine how we interact with portable gaming. The company has announced the Predator Atlas 7 handheld device, complemented by the ambitious Project DualPlay Mini, setting a new standard for portable performance and versatility.

At the heart of the announcement is the Predator Atlas 7. This handheld is built for power and precision, powered by an Intel Arc G3 Extreme processor paired with Intel Arc B390 graphics. It boasts a stunning 7-inch Full HD 120Hz VRR touchscreen, capable of delivering a vibrant display with a peak brightness of 500 nits. For those who demand thermal efficiency, the system incorporates a sophisticated dual-fan cooling setup, featuring a delicate 0.1mm 89-blade metal AeroBlade fan alongside a secondary plastic fan to keep performance smooth under heavy load.

Beyond raw performance, the Atlas 7 is packed with cutting-edge controls and connectivity options. Acer has integrated features like an 80Wh battery, dual Thunderbolt 4 ports, and UHS-II microSD expansion for seamless data handling. Physical interaction is enhanced by optional features such as TMR joysticks, Hall-effect triggers, and a power-button fingerprint sensor, offering secure and highly responsive input methods.

Connectivity is equally robust, featuring Intel Killer Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 5.4, ensuring lightning-fast wireless communication for any gaming session on the go. This focus on high-end components and user experience signals Acer’s commitment to creating truly premium portable experiences.

Adding to this innovative lineup is Project DualPlay Mini, an 8-inch conceptual device that introduces an entirely new dimension of portability. This concept device utilizes a flip-and-swivel mechanism, allowing the unit to seamlessly transition between a traditional handheld mode and a mini-laptop configuration. When in laptop mode, it features a backlit physical keyboard, providing users with the full desktop experience in a compact frame.

The DualPlay Mini concept also features a powerful Intel processor cooled by the same dual-fan structure found in the Atlas 7. To celebrate Acer’s 50th anniversary, the device features distinctive Morse code detailing printed on the back cover, merging cutting-edge technology with a touch of nostalgic design.

While the concept of the DualPlay Mini is certainly intriguing, it remains a vision for the future. The Predator Atlas 7, however, is set for a concrete rollout, with regional availability scheduled for EMEA and North America in Q4 2026. This timing also coincides with the arrival of the larger 8-inch Predator Atlas 8, which was previously shown at Computex 2026, bringing even more options to the portable gaming market.
