Modular laptop giant Framework has delivered some much-needed financial relief to consumers, announcing a strategic adjustment to memory pricing for its new Framework Laptop 13 Pro. After recently doubling the cost of memory modules in July, the company is now retroactively applying price reductions, allowing customers to capitalize on recently secured lower sourcing costs.

The move stems from the Supply Chain team successfully sourcing a limited quantity of Micron 32GB and 64GB LPCAMM2 memory modules at a reduced cost. This newfound efficiency means Framework is passing those savings directly back to the buyers, ensuring that customers benefit from the reduced expenditure.

This favorable update applies to both orders that have already shipped and a subset of pending pre-orders. Framework’s chief executive, Nirav Patel, confirmed that while the new prices are still above the initial pre-order baseline, they reflect a significant improvement over the recent cost updates that drove the original pricing.

To manage the rollout, Framework is utilizing a “first-come, first-serve” system, making these cost savings available to customers through “Batch 10.” This approach ensures that inventory is distributed efficiently while maximizing customer access to the improved pricing.

For those who have already purchased a Framework 13 Pro and wish to upgrade to the lower-priced LPCAMM2 modules, the process is straightforward. Customers who have orders already shipped will automatically receive a refund for the difference in price. Furthermore, customers awaiting pre-orders can now easily adjust their RAM capacity to take advantage of the better pricing directly through the order summary page.

Even for those with a DIY Edition Framework 13 Pro, there is an organized way to facilitate a swap. Customers can use a dedicated contact form to coordinate the exchange of modules, streamlining the process of optimizing their laptop configuration with the newly available savings.
