Gearbox reveals Borderlands 4 Murders & Acquisitions DLC

Get ready to dive into some high-stakes drama and some seriously sweet loot, because the next installment of Borderlands 4 is just around the corner. Gearbox has unveiled more than just an update; they’ve dropped a massive dose of premium content designed to shake up the desert canyons and expand the world of Pandora.

The first major drop is Bounty Pack 4: Murders and Acquisitions, set to arrive on July 30th alongside the V1.9 update. This isn’t just about picking up new guns; it’s a deep narrative expansion that puts players directly into the heart of a simmering conflict.

This exciting DLC splits into two compelling parts: the core story, Murders and Acquisitions, and Vault Card 4, which promises a fresh set of cosmetic rewards and gear opportunities.

Players will be sent into the polluted Toxic Scowl, a desolate desert canyon where they team up with Levaine, the formidable leader of the Electi. The mission tasks players with mediating a brutal conflict between two powerful Ripper factions. What makes this experience truly rewarding is that the narrative is choice-driven; dialogue and combat scenarios will evolve based on player decisions, altering the flow of action right up to the final boss confrontation.

For those who master the quest and face down the final boss and three mini-bosses, the rewards are legendary. Players can unlock brand-new cosmetics, including a sought-after Vault Hunter Skin, a custom Vehicle, and an ECHO-4 Drone Skin. Plus, there’s a chance to snag exclusive loot, such as a Pearlescent weapon and six new Legendary items.

Vault Card 4 is packed with further incentives, delivering 24 new cosmetic rewards and four rerollable gear pieces earned through exploration, enemy encounters, and daily or weekly challenges. It’s a treasure trove waiting to be mined.

Beyond the immediate bounty pack, Gearbox is also teasing future expansions that promise even more world-building. Story Pack 2: FL4K and the Last Resort is slated for release in September, promising an adventure where players search for their missing skag, Mr. Chew, while uncovering a mysterious Tediore operation hidden within a volcanic jungle island.

This subsequent update introduces entirely new gameplay elements, including a brand-new playable Vault Hunter named Loveless the Hacker. Stay tuned, as Gearbox continues to build an incredible post-launch experience, with more details coming soon about Bounty Pack 5.
