Mario Kart World massive update 10 new classic courses
Mario Kart World, a title exclusive to the Nintendo Switch, has been steadily evolving, proving that even established franchises can find new ways to surprise fans. While some felt the initial experience was somewhat incomplete compared to titles like Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, Nintendo has consistently worked to enrich the experience, and the latest update continues this slow but sure progression.
The latest patch, version 1.8.0, has delivered a substantial injection of content, adding ten classic courses from the beloved SNES era to the mix across the game’s various modes, including VS Race, Time Trials, and online play.
These newly accessible tracks include gems such as the SNES Mario Circuit, SNES Ghost Valley, SNES Choco Island, SNES Vanilla Lake, and SNES Koopa Beach, among others. What makes this update particularly interesting is that these courses were technically present in the game from the start, raising questions about why they weren’t initially included in VS Races.
Beyond the classic circuit, the update also introduced two new Knockout Tour tracks: Propeller Rally and Turnip Rally, offering fresh challenges for players in the knockout mode.
Of course, the content additions are only half the story. The patch also focused heavily on improving the day-to-day experience, rolling out a plethora of Quality of Life (QoL) features and critical bug fixes. These improvements include enhancements to Time Trials with new visual indicators, better spectator mode functionality, increased capacity for Online Play allowing up to 26 players, and various balance tweaks and fixes to power items.
For players who appreciate continuous refinement, these behind-the-scenes adjustments are a welcome sign. It shows Nintendo prioritizing the polish and stability of the game, continuously balancing the title while steadily working toward the goal of introducing genuinely original, new content.
