New rubber ducks await! Arc Raiders update & Frozen Trails release
The countdown is officially on. Just a month away, players will dive into Arc Raiders with the highly anticipated major update, Frozen Trails. This expansion promises not just a new map, but a complete overhaul of movement and a fresh set of high-level challenges that will test every Raider’s skill.
Before the grand reveal, the community has already received some exciting additions. The game recently rolled out update 1.45.0, bringing a host of immediate changes and features. Among the fixes and enhancements, players can now engage in a new initiative: the Raider Project. This new undertaking allows players to assist Apollo in a crucial experiment, helping him track phantom arc signals across the mountain ranges and beyond the perimeter of the tube system.
Completing the tasks within the Raider Project is key to Apollo finishing his vital work. This mission cleverly sets the stage for the Frozen Trails update, as the new map is strategically placed just beyond the reach of current Raiders. Once players reach this new territory, they will be able to pinpoint the exact location of the arc signals, potentially providing answers to Shani’s concerns about the mystery.
Beyond the high-stakes mission, the update introduced some delightful cosmetic items for players to personalize their experience. These include a range of community-made rubber ducks, such as a colorful confetti duck, a smart penguin with a bowtie, and an X-ray duck, which can be displayed in your den.
However, the most significant shift in the game concerns the in-game economy. In preparation for the Frozen Trails update, the game is retiring the existing Cred currency. Instead, players will transition to a more expansive reward system, which will be introduced alongside the new update.
This transition means that all existing Raider Deck rewards will be integrated into the new system, ensuring that players keep any rewards they have already claimed. While the Cred currency will remain usable until October 8th, Embark encourages players to utilize any remaining funds before that date. Remember, any Cred left on your account will expire and become unusable after October 8th—so make sure you use it or lose it!
The final piece of the puzzle is timing. While we await the full scope of the Frozen Trails expansion, the game remains active. Embark has promised smaller updates before the October 8th deadline, ensuring that the excitement for the upcoming journey into the mountains continues right up until launch.
