Achieving a ramp rate that moves a data center platform from effectively no production revenue in Q2 FY2027 to twenty percent of revenue in a single quarter is a historic feat, setting a new benchmark for the entire industry. However, even with such phenomenal projections, the reality of physical unit shipment volumes requires careful consideration.
While the financial forecasts are breathtaking, exact unit shipments remain estimates. If Nvidia were to ship only the VR200 NVL72 rack-scale systems, the component estimates suggest a total supply of between 2,550 and 3,975 machines, which would encompass hundreds of thousands of Vera CPUs and Rubin GPUs.
Even considering the high cost of leading-edge AI hardware—with some memory costs soaring by 485 percent—the sheer value generated by even limited volumes of these components remains colossal.
