RX 9070 XT claims top spot for Steam GPUs
The world of PC graphics cards is a constant battleground, and the latest data from the Steam Hardware Survey reveals an interesting shift in the landscape. While the high-end segment remains fiercely contested, a specific challenger is carving out a significant niche, demonstrating strong momentum in the community that powers gaming on Steam.
Taking the lead in this particular segment is AMD’s Radeon RX 9070 XT, which has cemented its status as the company’s most widely used discrete GPU on the platform. This card holds a 1.46% share among surveyed systems, positioning it firmly at 24th place overall. The rise is notable, reflecting steady month-to-month growth in user adoption.
Analyzing the growth trajectory, the RX 9070 XT showed impressive consistency, climbing from 1.33% in May to 1.46% in August. This sustained increase indicates a growing appetite for AMD’s offerings within the gaming community.
Looking ahead, AMD is continuing to push its lineup, with the Radeon RX 9060 XT showing a solid 0.80% share among surveyed systems, signaling future growth potential for the brand.
However, the dominance of the market still belongs to Nvidia, particularly in the premium tier. The GeForce RTX 50-series continues to command the upper portion of the chart. The RTX 5070 sits in third place overall with a 3.77% share, closely followed by the RTX 5060 at 3.16% and the RTX 5060 Ti at 2.55%. Even the high-performance RTX 5080 maintains a respectable 1.71% share.
Meanwhile, Intel’s presence in the market remains anchored by integrated solutions. Intel Iris Xe graphics currently make up the bulk of their presence at 1.74%, highlighting the continued reliance on powerful integrated solutions for many users.
The survey paints a clear picture of a dynamic market, where AMD is making significant strides in user preference, while Nvidia maintains its strong hold in the high-end gaming space.
