Security experts Talal Haj Bakry and Tommy Mysk uncovered mechanisms that allow certain WebKit functionalities to operate outside the typical control of browser proxy settings. The core of the breakthrough lies in identifying three distinct WebKit features: DNS prefetching, WebAuthn Related Origin Requests, and WebTransport.
