Devora Wilde didn’t know she was in Space Marine 2 until revealed
Devora Wilde is certainly known for grace and commanding presence, especially as she embodies Lae’zel in the popular title Baldur’s Gate 3. But beyond the epic romance of the Forgotten Realms, Wilde has spent considerable time diving deep into the world of video games, making her an unexpected participant in a wide array of digital universes.
Her gaming history spans titles ranging from Solasta 2 and Clair Obscur to Crimson Desert and Split Fiction, showcasing a versatile interest in complex narrative design. This broad experience is only part of her deep connection to interactive storytelling.
Wilde’s immersion extends even into the darker corners of gaming history. She has also been involved with titles like Red Solstice 2 and delves into the grim aesthetic of the Warhammer universe, participating in various spin-offs and animations.
Perhaps the most surprising revelations about her gaming journey involve her experiences with franchises she wasn’t initially aware of. When Wilde auditioned for a role in Silent Hill 2, she only grasped the game’s identity after hearing familiar dialogue and making an online search.
This tendency to discover new worlds often happens when actors are cast in projects where game assets or performance footage are used. For instance, during her work on Space Marine 2, Wilde was involved in performing mocap and stunts as characters such as a servo-skull and a Cadian soldier.
The true realization of her involvement came later. A recording she performed—an audio log from one of the roles she played—provided the final clue: “I was like, ‘Oh, that’s me. I’m an audio log.'” This moment perfectly illustrates how actors sometimes uncover their deep immersion in a game only after the fact.
The experience is not limited to modern RPGs; Wilde has also explored the vastness of the Warhammer universe. She has taken on roles such as Tzarina Katarin Bokha in Total War: Warhammer 3 and provided voice options for female Arbitrators, connecting her work to the epic scope of the Adepta Sororitas.
As Wilde reflects on her extensive gaming history, she noted how much she has explored; “It just so happens that I’ve done a lot of Warhammer stuff,” she commented, adding that she never realized just how vast that universe truly was.
